La mission Lutte contre le racisme, l’antisémitisme, la haine anti-LGBT

Against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hate

Fighting against racist, anti-Semitic and anti-LGBT hateful acts that infringe on the rights of individuals is a crucial action for our university.

Against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hate

As part of the implementation of its anti-discrimination policy, the President of Sorbonne University has appointed Virginie Mouriès-Mansuy as the person in charge of the mission against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred.

Her mission is to take action and to strengthen the university's commitment to these issues, and thus to guarantee professional equality among staff and equal treatment of male and female students. It is in charge of coordinating actions to raise awareness and fight against these discriminations and to carry the policy of Sorbonne University at the level of its three faculties.

The charter to fight against discrimination. (In French)

Commitment of the mission

  • To represent Sorbonne University in the fight against racism and anti-Semitism, in particular with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation by being a member of the network of racism-anti-Semitism representatives led by the French Ministries (DILCRAH).
  • To propose actions to raise awareness and fight against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred throughout the university (staff, students, central services, academic and research departments, selection committees, management of components and laboratories).
  • Fight against the hatred that can spread on the Internet and social networks.
  • Communicate the penalties for acts of racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hate
  • In a more general way, to be a resource whenever a question relating to racism is likely to arise.

Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine teaches the 3 cycles of medical studies: from PASS (integrated into the faculty) to the 3rd cycle including DES, DESC, DU and DIU. The lessons are given mainly on two sites: Pitié-Salpêtrière and Saint-Antoine. The faculty also provides paramedical education: speech therapy, psychomotricity and orthoptics. The Saint-Antoine site includes a midwifery school.

Welcome to Sorbonne University's Faculty of Science & Engineering

A unique combination of courses and expertise

Our international study programmes are organised according to the major disciplinary areas of the faculty. They represent the graduate study programmes that are not strictly conducted in French or that could be suitable (in part) for non French-speaking students. They also reflect part of the diversity of the disciplines involved and the bi- and inter-disciplinary aspects of many of the courses we offer.

Research & Innovation

We rely on disciplinary skills and on interdisciplinary approaches to renew concepts, methods and research subjects and to focus on some of the crucial issues faced by our societies: transformations affecting the very construction of knowledge (data, AI), the treatment of complex objects (the environment, marine and ocean sciences, cultural heritage) or our contributions to addressing societal challenges (climate change, healthcare).

Campus Life

In addition to the cultural activities and events organised throughout the year by our clubs and societies, the Parismus society organises numerous events, evenings and cultural visits that will help you discover France and its parisian life.
